Research, evaluation & review

Siggins Miller provides research evaluation and review services to the government and non-government sectors including commercial and not-for-profit organisations.

We use evidence and analysis to link research policy and practice. Siggins Miller has a reputation for conducting:

  • large and small scale evaluations
  • reviews of systems, organisations, programs and services.

We tailor our methods to early developmental or well established programs and services.

Program review

Building evaluation into programs from the beginning is critical to program success. We can work with clients at the design stage to identify program inputs, activities (processes and outputs), short-term, intermediate and long-term outcomes.

Evaluations draw on quantitative and qualitative methods such as surveys, focus groups, stakeholder analysis, informant interviews and systematic reviews of the literature and evidence. Our use of this rigorous approach and our directors and consultants’ real-world experience leads to practical and actionable advice and recommendations.

Program review

Even the most successful programs and services benefit from periodic external review to provide accountability to program funders, providers and consumers. We design periodic reviews to reflect on challenges, successes and ways to sustain these. Siggins Miller uses evidence to:

  • identify program objectives
  • challenge the links between inputs, activities and outcomes
  • quantify tangible outcomes
  • describe the conditions and opportunities for sustainable program development and innovation.
