Workforce development & modelling

	In all our program evaluation and review work, the issues of workforce development and modelling are central issues
	Development of Australia’s first National Mental Health Workforce Strategy and Plan for the Commonwealth’s Mental Health Workforce Advisory Committee. The workforce strategy development and planning is a major outcome of the Fourth National Mental Health Plan. The process has included: a major literature and document review of international peer-reviewed literature and policy approaches and initiatives in Australia and in comparable jurisdictions; organisation and facilitation of national consultation workshops with stakeholders; strategy development and production of an implementation plan.
	In our recent planning work in Aboriginal Health and in Alcohol and other drugs and Cancer Care at jurisdictional and national levels we have used workforce modelling data to inform the design and costing of models of care matched to population need and patterns of illness
	Review and evaluation of education, training and CPD programs (e.g. the evaluation of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine's CPD program)
	Development of an evaluation framework for the education and CPD programs of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Australia and New Zealand
	Review of the Specialty Centres of the Public Health Education and Research Programmes
	Analysis of remuneration and other incentives on the attraction and retention of workforces especially but not only in rural and remote areas (e.g. Australia's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Complementary Strategy on Alcohol and other Drugs)
	Evaluation of extended aged care in the home demonstration projects - Available online
	Analysis of workforce structure, role delineation and task substitution (e.g. evaluation of Australia's national drug strategic framework)
	Analysis and review of regulation of the workforce (e.g. review of the Queensland Medical Board's handling of impaired doctors)
	Facilitation of the review of the national emotional and social wellbeing workforce and research and data strategies for Office of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, Canberra
