Siggins Miller provides research, evaluation and review services to the government, non-government and private sectors.
We carefully work with clients to co-design evaluation and review frameworks. We have worked with clients to bring evaluative thinking to the developmental stage of programs, change management efforts and culture chance processes. We also provide evaluations and reviews of existing programs including process or implementation evaluations and outcome and impact evaluations.
We employ carefully designed, mixed-methods approaches (both qualitative and quantitative) that will address agreed evaluation and review questions.
We conduct systematic reviews of evidence (both peer-reviewed and grey literature) relevant to the focus of any evaluation, carefully map with our clients internal and external stakeholders who may be affected by the evaluation, and produce detailed communication and consultation plans to ensure consistency and depth of information gathered. We have conducted Randomised Control Trials, quasi-experimental designs and used contribution analysis when the practical and ethical circumstances of an evaluation do not allow for experimental designs.
In any approach, the triangulation of both qualitative and quantitative data is an integral part of out work to ensure evaluations can answer the question not only of what happened, but why the results happened, for who and under what circumstances.
Building evaluation into programs from the beginning is critical to program success. We can work with clients at the design stage to identify program inputs, activities (processes) and outputs.
Even the most successful programs and services benefit from periodic external review to provide accountability to program funders, providers and consumers. We design periodic reviews to reflect on challenges, successes and ways to sustain these. Siggins Miller uses evidence to:
- Identify program objectives
- Challenge the links between inputs, activities and outcomes
- Quantify tangible outcomes
- Describe the conditions and opportunities for sustainable program development and innovation.
